Comments
DISCLAIMER: Velera values your privacy. That said, Velera reserves the right to refuse to act on a Data Subject Rights (DSR) request, to the extent consistent with applicable law. Examples of circumstances where Velera may not be required to act on a DSR request are as follows: 1. The Data Subject Rights (DSRs) request is manifestly unfounded – Velera suspects that the requestor has no real intention to exercise the data subject right, that the request has malicious intent and that the request serves no other purpose than to cause a disruption 2. The Data Subject Rights (DSRs) request is manifestly excessive - The DSR request is unreasonable and is disproportionate to the cost or other burdens involved with DSR request. 3. The requestor does not reside within a jurisdiction in which the Data Subject Rights (DSR) request is required to be acted upon - Not all jurisdictions have privacy laws that provide their residents with the right to make certain DSR requests or require the recipient of a DSR request to take action. Velera will act upon DSR requests where and in the manner required to do so under applicable law. Where Velera receives a DSR request from individuals residing in a jurisdiction that does not require Velera to act on such a request, Velera may elect to do so at its option. 4. Action on the DSR request is otherwise not required by applicable law – There may be instances beyond those listed above where Velera is not required to take action in response to a DSR request. For example, data and/or entities subject to a sectoral federal privacy law, such as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, may be exempt from DSR response requirements that would otherwise apply under state privacy laws. Where action is otherwise not required under applicable law, Velera may consider each DSR request on a case-by-case basis.
